Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead coating and lining inspections on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points from the coating spec, verify surface prep, application and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and write essential inspection reports for owners and engineers.

The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of field inspection experience, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, and experience

Qualifications

AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification is required and current
2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2 certification
Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards
Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects

Responsibilities

Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and manufacturer data
Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point
Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing
Disposition defects and specify repairs
Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs
Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the inspection program to owner and applicator
