Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to oversee protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep and cure, conduct adhesion and holiday tests, and write reports relied upon by owners and engineers.

With CIP Level 2 certification and 2+ years of inspection experience, you will supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and ensure nonconformances are resolved with the applicator,

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification, current.
• 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface prep standards.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coatings.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specification.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
• Disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; represent the program to owner and applicator.
