Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic coating inspections under the guidance of a CIP Level 2/3 inspector. You will verify surface prep, measure ambient conditions and film thickness, and document every step on tanks, structures, pipe and concrete.

Qualifications include current CIP Level 1 certification and 1+ years in coatings inspection. You will work around blasting and spray operations, maintaining meticulous records and logs.

Qualifications

• AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 1 certification, current.
• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable around tanks, structures, blasting and spray ops.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.
• Honest about what the gauge reads.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation per SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check holidays/defects.
• Verify materials batch numbers, mixing, and pot life.
• Keep daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
