Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc invites motivated engineering students for a Waterfront/Coastal Engineering Intern or Co-Op role. You will contribute to design and analysis of coastal structures, assist with fieldwork, and develop skills using AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Revit.

You'll work on projects across the Northeast, with mentorship and opportunities to learn from engineers and scientists in a collaborative, employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a Civil, Structural, or Ocean Engineering BS program at an ABET-accredited school (MS also welcome).
• Strong sense of curiosity, initiative, and attention to detail.
• Experience or willingness to learn AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Revit; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support design and analysis of coastal and waterfront structures.
• Participate in field surveys, inspections, and construction oversight from pile driving to concrete placement.
• Develop technical skills using AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Revit.
• Perform calculations, prepare spreadsheets, and contribute to design documentation.
• Shadow engineers to learn career paths after graduation; assist with permitting and client support.
