Job summary

Symbotic’s Site Operations team in a customer-site setting seeks a Co-Op System Engineer to support performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of robotics-based material handling systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, robotics and software technologies while contributing to real projects.

You will shadow experienced engineers, analyze system data, and manage tickets and site activities with mentorship and structured development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of robotics, automation, electromechanical systems, controls or industrial operations.
• Familiar with PLCs, SQL, Linux, Python, Power BI, Excel, data visualization or continuous improvement practices.
• Hands-on experience with robotics/electromechanical equipment through coursework or projects.
• Ability to analyze data and translate observations into actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication for site teams and customers.
• Curiosity and bias for action in a fast-paced customer-site environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system health and troubleshoot operational, mechanical, electrical, robotics, and software issues.
• Shadow senior System Engineers and support assigned system tickets and site activities.
• Analyze alarms, performance metrics, and data to identify trends and improvements.
• Document issues clearly and communicate concepts to site teams and customers.
• Assist with escalations for production-impacting problems and coordinate resolutions.
• Own a scoped continuous improvement project using site data and measure results.
• Follow safety processes while working in an active warehouse environment.
