GreenStar Cooperative Market is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily operations, security, and customer service. You will assist with scheduling, training, and ensuring accurate stock, pricing, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple demands and stay calm.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy.
• Experience supervising staff preferred.
• Experience with cash registers and retail software a plus.
• Able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly store schedules within labor budget.
• Maintain store security and address facilities emergencies.
• Report concerns to Store Manager; handle customer or staff issues.
• Understand coop structure and purchasing processes.
• Ensure orders and invoices are processed and stocked.
• Maintain stock levels and accurate labeling using the POS system.
• Keep shelves stocked, displays organized, and prices clear.
• Train staff on front-end systems and customer service standards.
• Ensure cash handling accuracy and safe procedures.
• Provide friendly service and assist with special orders.
• Maintain clean retail and storage areas meeting health standards.
• Support inventory counts and equipment maintenance.
• Follow safety rules and participate in training.
• Foster positive staff relations and clear communication.
• Fill in for staff as needed; update procedures and manuals.
• Provide feedback to Store Manager and help achieve goals.
