Job summary

Symbotic is seeking Co-op students for Spring 2027 to contribute to real-time robotics software development. You will work with engineers to design motion planning, control software for end-effectors, and integration across hardware and software. Expect mentorship, hands-on project work, and exposure to AI-powered warehouse automation.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data-driven improvement, and building scalable software foundations in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Linux, C++, Python and common scripting tools.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence or similar tools.
• Knowledge of simulation tools and robotics fundamentals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorm with engineers on cross-functional teams to conceptualize and develop real-time high-performance software.
• Develop motion planning algorithms and state machines for robotic manipulators.
• Design, develop, and implement control software for end-of-arm tools and grippers.
• Define metrics for pick and place quality using sensors and cameras.
• Support hardware-software integration and system testing in production.
