Job summary

EMI Industries in Cranston, RI is seeking a Machine Operator for its woodshop/millwork operations. You will set up and run CNC routers, edge banders, and saws to fabricate wood components to spec, reading travelers, blueprints, and cut lists while maintaining quality, safety, and production schedules.

This role requires the ability to interpret plans, perform routine maintenance, and document production data. Training is available for entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and CAD/CNC files.
• Perform basic math and accurate measurements for setup.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude for machine setup and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC routers and saws to specification.
• Install tooling, set offsets, and load programs per job specs.
• Inspect parts for dimensional accuracy and report non-conformities.
• Maintain production records and ensure clean work area.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE on the shop floor.
• Coordinate with planning and other operators for sequencing.
