Job summary

Orion RED is seeking an experienced Woodworking Machine Operator for their Smithfield, RI location. The successful candidate will set up and operate various woodworking machinery, ensure quality control of finished products, and maintain equipment. Ideal applicants have a strong understanding of woodworking tools, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and stamina for a manufacturing environment. Qualifications

• Strong understanding of woodworking tools, machinery design, and production processes.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Capability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure and operate manual and computer controlled woodworking machines.
• Watch machines for proper operation, adjusting controls as needed.
• Inspect finished workpieces for accuracy, smoothness, and shape.
• Select and secure wood stock to ensure it meets project specifications.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment.
