Job summary

EMI Industries, a division of LSI Corporation, seeks a Plant Manager for its Cranston, RI facility. This role leads 120+ employees across metal fabrication and wood millwork, owning safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

The candidate will convert customer drawings to shop plans and drive a high‑performance Lean culture while aligning with LSI’s core tenets. The Plant Manager will coordinate with Engineering, Sales, and Maintenance to ensure on-time, high‑quality results and will Champion Lean,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
• Ten+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership, with 5–8 years at plant or multi‑department leadership in facilities of 100+ employees.
• Direct experience leading custom, project‑based, engineered‑to‑order manufacturing operations.
• Experience reading customer drawings, shop drawings, weld symbols, and millwork specifications.
• Lean/continuous improvement expertise; Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership for all plant operations: receiving, warehouse, inventory, metal fabrication, wood millwork, assembly, finishing, shipping, and supply chain.
• Plan and sequence production from backlog to meet customer dates; balance work across metal and wood shops.
• Translate drawings and engineering packages into shop-ready travelers, cut lists, weld sequences, and pack lists; stop work if incomplete.
