Job summary

EMI Industries in Cranston, RI, seeks a Plant Manager to lead a 120+ person facility producing engineered-to-order metal and millwork products for restaurants, supermarkets, and retailers. You will own safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance, converting customer drawings into executable shop plans.

The role requires deep manufacturing experience across metal fabrication and wood millwork, with a drive to build a high-performance culture and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership in large facilities.
• Experience leading custom engineered-to-order or high-mix manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and tactical leadership for all plant operations (receiving, warehouse, inventory, metal fabrication, wood millwork, assembly, finishing and shipping).
• Plan and sequence production from backlog to meet customer promises.
• Translate drawings and engineering packages into shop-ready work and travelers.
• Foster safety culture meeting OSHA and company standards.
• Drive Lean, 5S, PDCA and root-cause problem solving to improve flow and performance.
• Develop supervisors and frontline leadership across a 120+ employee workforce.
