Job summary

Champion Aerospace Inc. is seeking a skilled Machinist CNC turning lathe operator to set up and run machines to precise specs. You will assist the Machining Engineer by testing, calibrating and adjusting equipment, and you will report data from tests.

You will read CNC part programs, upload/download programs, and help develop new CNC programs while maintaining files. A high school diploma and CNC coursework plus 1 year of hands-on experience are expected.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Successful completion of CNC Programming and Operations, CNC Fundamentals or comparable courses.
One year experience operating and setting up manual & automatic drills, lathes, grinders and milling machines.

Responsibilities

Set work coordinates on machines.
Set tool geometry offsets.
Read/understand CNC part programs. Upload/download programs as required.
Monitors and debugs new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies.
Understand cutting tool geometry and cutting tool materials.
Interfaces with vendors and outside sales personnel to evaluate new tooling.
Assist ME in developing new CNC programs, implements their use and maintains program files.
