Job summary

Hydro in North America is seeking a CNC Technician to operate and set up equipment on the night shift (6pm–6am) rotating weekends off, producing quality pieces and supporting the CNC Supervisor to keep the department safe and efficient. You will respond to machine alarms, read blueprints, perform setups from instructions, train teammates, and help maintain Hydro safety standards.

A high school diploma and 4 years CNC setup experience are required; physical ability to lift 20–50 pounds and pass a

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 4 years CNC setup experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Must have working knowledge of M and G codes.
• Must be able to complete set-ups from blueprints and work instructions.
• Must be able to modify existing programs.
• Must be able to use hand tools.
• Must have knowledge of quality measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Must understand quality documents and systems.
• Must be able to read/write small numbers and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Must be able to multitask and work under pressure.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Must pass drug/alcohol screen and physical exam.
• Must lift 20-50 pounds frequently.
• Must complete a 90 day orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Maintain CNC machines and respond to alarms promptly.
• Assist supervisor with assigning jobs to meet production schedules.
• Instruct production personnel on machine operation.
• Cross-train associates and support Hydro safety training.
• Stop production and notify supervisor when quality issues arise.
• Inform maintenance when machines break down.
• Identify and label correct Hydro part numbers and counts for next operation.
• Account for all scrap and ensure safety checks are followed.
• Seek opportunities to improve productivity and product quality.
• Support overtime when required.
