Job summary

Hydro Extrusions is seeking a CNC Technician for night shift in Phoenix, AZ. You will set up and operate CNC equipment to produce quality aluminum parts, respond to alarms, and support the supervisor to meet production schedules.

You will read blueprints, work with M and G codes, perform tool changes, assist with cross-training, and maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma is required.
• 4 years prior CNC set up experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read and understand blue prints.
• Must have working knowledge of M and G codes.
• Must be able to complete set-ups from blue prints as well as work instructions.
• Must be able to modify existing programs.
• Must be able to use hand tools.
• Must have knowledge of quality measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
• Must understand quality documents and systems.
• Must be able to read/write small numbers and letters; perform arithmetic calculations.
• Must be able to perform several tasks simultaneously.
• Must respond quickly to problems and work in a stressful environment.
• Must communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and managers in written and verbal form.
• Must understand and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Must pass a drug/alcohol screen and physical exam.
• Must be able to lift 20–50 pounds frequently during an 8–10 hour shift.
• Must successfully complete a 90 day orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up CNC equipment as instructed by the supervisor.
• Produce quality pieces and run machines safely to support the supervisor in meeting production schedules.
• Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner and recover equipment from alarm stops.
• Cross-train with associates and ensure Hydro Safety training is up to date.
• Identify quality problems and stop production, reporting to the supervisor as needed.
• Ensure correct Hydro Extrusion part numbers and counts on racks and packaging.
• Maintain safety equipment in proper working order before operating tools.
• Strive to increase productivity and quality in the production area.
• Suggest improvements to improve quantity and quality of finished products.
