Job summary

Utility Solutions, Inc. is seeking a CNC Setup technician to join our team in Hickory, NC. The role covers setup and operation of CNC machines to produce parts per engineering drawings and specifications.

The position reports to the production supervisor and requires experience with 3‑axis mills, blueprints, and G/M code basics. Shift is 10:00pm–6:30am Sunday–Thursday with training on early shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School / GED required.
• Two to five years related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications.
• Basic understanding of CNC machine tool program language (G and M codes).
• Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Select and install the correct vises and fixtures for each job.
• Calibrate tools and make work offsets.
• Ability to utilize an edge finder.
• Change broken/worn tooling on machines as needed.
• Prepare tooling for upcoming work orders.
• Problem-solve any issues that impact production.
• Load CNC machines as needed.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as needed.
