Job summary

LeoForce in Agawam, MA is seeking a seasoned CNC Swiss Machinist to set up, program, operate, and troubleshoot Swiss-style turning equipment for precision parts.

You will interpret complex engineering drawings, develop G-code/M-code programs (Esprit/PartMaker a plus), load tooling, and mentor junior machinists while ensuring tight tolerances and top-quality results. Collaboration with engineering and production teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of CNC Swiss setup and operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficiency with G-code and M-code programming.
• Experience with CAM software such as Esprit or PartMaker.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality parts.
• Mentoring junior machinists.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines for production runs
• Select and install tooling, load materials, and secure workpieces
• Interpret engineering drawings, models, specifications, and tolerances
• Develop and modify CNC programs using G-code, M-code, CAM software, or manual programming
• Perform test runs, trial cuts, and first-piece inspections
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy
• Monitor machining processes and make offsets/adjustments
• Troubleshoot setup, tooling, programming, and machining issues
• Optimize programs, toolpaths, cycle times, and machine performance
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams on improvements
• Train and mentor junior CNC operators on Swiss practices
• Perform routine machine maintenance and safety compliance
• Follow all safety and quality standards
