Job summary

Unify Recruit is seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to support customers across the Dallas/Fort Worth area and surrounding regional territory. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain CNC machinery and automated manufacturing equipment in aerospace, medical device, semiconductor, precision manufacturing, and industrial automation environments.

This role requires hands-on technical work with travel up to 50% and on-site and remote support.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in CNC field service or automation support.
  • Experience with FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, Mazak or similar controls.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting with meters and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to travel regionally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control issues on CNC machinery.
  • Install, commission, and calibrate CNC machines and automated equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize uptime and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot servo systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and CNC controls.
  • Read electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Provide on-site and remote support with clear communication.
  • Maintain service documentation and swift customer updates.
  • Travel regionally to support customer sites.

Job description

A well-established and highly respected machine tool and automation company is seeking a CNC Field Service Engineer to support customers throughout the Dallas/Forth Worth area and the surrounding regional territory. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining CNC machinery and automated manufacturing equipment. The position involves frequent travel (up to 50%)

This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced machining technologies while supporting customers across aerospace, medical device, semiconductor, precision manufacturing, and industrial automation industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-related issues on CNC machinery
  • Install, commission, and calibrate CNC machines and automated equipment at customer sites
  • Perform preventive maintenance and machine inspections to maximize uptime and reliability
  • Troubleshoot servo systems, motors, drives, PLCs, and CNC controls
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings
  • Support customers both on-site and remotely with technical troubleshooting and service needs
  • Maintain detailed service documentation and communicate findings clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Provide emergency support and rapid response to minimize customer downtime
  • Travel throughout the assigned regional territory to support customer sites
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC field service, machine tool repair, industrial maintenance, or automation support
  • Experience with CNC controls such as FANUC, Siemens, Heidenhain, Haas, Mazak, or similar platforms
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills using multimeters and diagnostic equipment
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, servo drives, and motion control systems
  • Ability to perform machine alignments, ballscrew repairs, and mechanical adjustments preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in field environments

Travel:
