Job summary

GE Aerospace in Cincinnati, Ohio seeks a skilled CNC Programmer/Manufacturing Engineer to lead high-mix, low-volume machining initiatives. You will develop and maintain CNC programs, optimize tooling, and collaborate with machinists to validate first articles and reduce cycle times.

Expect to contribute to process development, standardization, and implementation of CAM software enhancements, while maintaining rigorous documentation and quality standards across product families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with manufacturing/engineering experience and CNC machining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads CNC programming and manufacturing engineering tasks focused on CNC milling and turning in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Develops, optimizes, and maintains CNC programs using CAM software to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Owns CNC process definition including tooling selection, workholding/fixturing concepts, setup methods, and standard work.
  • Proves out new or revised CNC programs on the shop floor with machinists to validate first-article runs.
  • Serves as a best-practice and quality resource for CNC programming standards and post-processors.
  • Maintains awareness of latest CNC technology and recommends upgrades to improve performance.
  • Analyzes machining performance data to refine programs and improve throughput.
  • Troubleshoots CNC-related issues and implements corrective actions through program changes.
  • Uses judgment to solve moderately complex CNC programming and machining problems.
  • Takes new perspectives on existing programs to simplify processes and standardize tooling.
  • Creates and maintains clear technical documentation such as setup sheets and tool lists.
