Steel Craft Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce machined parts.

You will interpret CAD drawings, generate setup sheets and tool paths with CAM software, and ensure tolerances. Experience with 3-axis mills, CAM programming, and a solid knowledge of cutters and inserts is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3-axis mills.
• Knowledge of cutters, inserts, and feeds/speeds.
• High school or equivalent education.
• Valid driver's license.
• Two years of machining experience.
• Two years programming with CAM software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret CAD drawings and solid models.
• Generate setup sheets, programs, inspection reports and offline worksheets.
• Generate and post tool paths with CAM software.
• Download programs and MDI as needed.
• Set up and machine to the proper programs and tolerances.
• Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed.
• Maintain tools and calibration; keep work area clean.
• Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Operate overhead cranes.
