Job summary

Kovoro, on behalf of a Tier 1 precision machining supplier in metro Detroit, seeks a skilled CNC Machinist to join a two-shift production environment. You will setup and operate 3- and 4-axis vertical and horizontal milling centers and CNC lathes.

You will read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T, perform in-process inspection with CMM and precision hand tools, and apply toolpath offsets to hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0002 inches.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on CNC milling or turning in a production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings with GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision hand tools and basic CMM operation.
• Experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3- and 4-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers and CNC lathes.

Job description

Our client is a Tier 1 precision machining supplier with a 150,000 sq. ft. facility in metro Detroit, producing complex aluminum, steel, and titanium components for automotive OEMs and defense prime contractors. The shop runs state-of-the-art Mazak, DMG Mori, and Haas equipment across two production shifts.

As CNC Machinist you will be responsible for the setup and operation of 3- and 4-axis vertical and horizontal machining centers and CNC lathes. You will read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts, perform in-process inspection using CMM, micrometers, bore gauges, and surface plates, and make toolpath offsets to hold tolerances as tight as ±0.0002".
