Job summary

The Montague Company in California is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Programmer to develop, optimize, and implement CNC programs for multi-axis machining. You will interpret blueprints, set up tooling, and collaborate with engineers to ensure GD&T conformance and high-quality output.

Responsibilities include CAM/CAD programming, process optimization using lean methods, and rigorous measurement verification with CMM and precision tools.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming CNC machines including 5-axis milling and lathes.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
• Hands-on CAM programming experience.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge to reduce waste.
• Strong math and measurement skills using calipers, micrometers, and CMM.

Responsibilities

• Develop and write CNC programs for multi-axis CNC milling machines (including 5-axis) using CAM software and CAD tools.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints and drawings to determine machining requirements and tooling specifications.
• Set up tooling and fixtures on CNC lathes, mills, and Fanuc-controlled machines for accurate production.
• Optimize machining processes using lean principles to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Perform precision measurements with calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and CMM to verify part quality.
• Troubleshoot programming issues and machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with engineering on CAD design modifications and ensure GD&T alignment with design intent.
