Job summary

RivCut Inc. in Union City, CA is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop efficient, reliable programs for diverse precision machining projects.

You will create CAM programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis mills and live-tooling lathes, collaborating with machinists and engineering to optimize processes and ensure manufacturability. The role requires hands-on programming with Mastercam or Fusion 360, strong GD&T understanding, and a track record of reducing cycle times while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
• Expert in Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent CAM software.
• Experience programming 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling centers & live-tooling lathes.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on CNC operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs using Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software.
• Develop toolpaths for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling operations.
• Program CNC lathes including live tooling and Y-axis operations.
• Review customer drawings and CAD models for manufacturability.
• Select tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
• Create setup sheets and work instructions for operators.
• Optimize existing programs to reduce cycle times and improve quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain program documentation and revision control.
• Support first-article runs and prove-out new jobs.
• Collaborate with operators to gather feedback and improve programs.
• Stay current with new CAM features and machining techniques.
• Support quoting by estimating cycle times and identifying challenges.
