Job summary

Olin is seeking a Machinist Technician for our Flex Pro Machine Shop in Independence, MO. You will operate CNC and manual mills and lathes, interpret drawings, set up machines, and help ensure quality and safety of finished parts.

The role requires at least two years of machining experience, proficiency with AutoCAD, and ability to read blueprints. A high school diploma is minimum; an Associate’s in Tool & Die or Machining is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree/certificate in Tool & Die or Machining preferred.
• Minimum two years of Machining/ Tool & Die experience; ability to program CNC mills and lathes preferred.
• Reading and understanding blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with AutoCAD software for reading, editing, and creating blueprints.
• Proficient in precision measuring using micrometers and calipers.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and trade-type tools to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Ability to work effectively without direct supervision and be comfortable instructing others if needed.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and manual mills, lathes, and other equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluids, replacing filters, or doing other preventative maintenance actions.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
• Prepare bills of material, specifications, and work orders.
