Job summary

Chromalox is seeking a Metal Fabricator, Weld Prep to support the Fab Prep Team. You will program, set up, and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce parts per drawings and production needs.

Responsibilities include material verification, part inspection, and finishing plasma-cut components. You will maintain inventory and assist with band saw and drill operations as required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of manufacturing/fabrication/CNC cutting experience preferred.
• Experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, work orders and technical docs.
• Strong math skills including fractions, decimals and measurements.
• Ability to use measuring/inspection equipment accurately.
• Basic computer skills for CNC programming and documentation.
• Good verbal and written communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine cutting requirements and sequence.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment.
• Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before processing.
• Inspect parts with measuring tools to ensure spec conformance.
• Remove cut parts and prepare material for downstream ops.
• Clean, grind, deburr, and finish plasma-cut components.
• Maintain inventory of plate, sheet, and materials used.
• Monitor inventory and communicate material needs to supervision.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and housekeeping.
• Support band saws and radial arm drills as needed.
