Position Summary
The CNC Plasma Operatoris responsible forsetting up, programming, and operating CNC plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut metal materials according to engineering drawings, and production schedules. This position ensures quality standards,maintainsequipment, and supports a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up andoperateCNC plasma cutting machines to cut steel, stainless steel, and other materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, nesting layouts, and work orders.
- Load raw materials onto cutting tables using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material handling equipment.
- Verify machine settings, cutting parameters, and material specifications before operation.
- Monitor machine performance andadjustto maintainquality and productivity.
- Inspect completed parts to ensure compliance with dimensional and quality requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of CNC plasma equipment.
- Remove slag, burrs, and scrap material asrequired.
- Maintainaccurateproduction records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Assistwith continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GEDrequired.
- Previousexperience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measuring tools.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and manufacturing practices.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls and nesting software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
