Job summary

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a skilled Plasma Cutter - Fabrication to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. You will operate plasma cutting equipment to accurately cut steel and sheet metal according to blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.

The ideal candidate reads blueprints, uses tape measures, and performs precise cuts with attention to detail, safety, and productivity in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating plasma cutting equipment in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and production specifications.
• Ability to read a tape measure and understand basic measurements.
• Strong attention to detail, safety, and quality.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to cut sheet metal and plate to specified dimensions.
• Read and interpret blueprints and production orders.
• Set up and operate plasma cutting equipment per job specs.
• Load, position, and secure raw materials for cutting.
• Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and quantities before cutting.
• Inspect cuts for accuracy and quality.
• Use measuring tools to verify accuracy of cuts.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain quality.
• Identify and report machine issues to supervisor or maintenance.
