Job summary

Chromalox is seeking a Metal Fabricator, Weld Prep to join the Fab Prep Team. You will program, set up, and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment to produce parts per drawings and production needs. You’ll manage material inventory, perform part cleaning and deburring, and support with band saws and radial arm drilling as required.

The role emphasizes reading blueprints, measuring precisely, and maintaining quality and safety standards in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Ability to use measuring and inspection tools accurately.
• Basic computer skills for CNC programming/documentation.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to cross-train in other fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine cutting requirements and operations.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC plasma cutting equipment.
• Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before processing.
• Inspect parts with measuring tools to ensure spec conformance.
• Prepare material and finish plasma-cut components.
• Assist with cutting with band saws and drilling as needed.
• Maintain inventory of materials and keep work area safe.
