Job summary

Messer Cutting Systems in Menomonee Falls, WI is seeking a Welder/Fabricator & CNC Plasma Operator to support metal fabrication and thermal cutting. You will set up weldments from engineering drawings, weld, grind, inspect, and ensure quality and dimensions.

You will also operate CNC plasma cutting equipment, maintain safety and drive continuous improvement in a cross-functional manufacturing team. Experience with MIG welding and CNC cutting is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Welding certificate/diploma is an advantage; MIG welding 2+ years experience.
• CNC cutting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Nest and program plasma cutting operations; determine materials.
• Set up and operate CNC cutting machine for sheet/plate.
• Weld, fit and inspect weldments to meet specs.
• Position parts, tack-weld and adjust components as required.
• Inspect dimensions during welding and correct variances.
• Create welding fixtures for repetitive production.
• Work from drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
• Train new employees and cross-train others.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and equipment.
• Operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Complete jobs within required production standards.
