Job summary

Ace Controls in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a CNC Operator to run vertical mill/CNC lathe and related equipment on a 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.). We offer cross-training on production equipment and a 10-hour shift schedule.

The role requires reading specifications, setting up CNC programs, deburring parts, and maintaining quality and records. Experience with Fanuc controls and G-code is essential; strong math and measurement skills are needed.

Qualifications

• Two years or more of relevant experience.
• Experience working with Fanuc controls.
• Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to read G&M codes and to write programs with G codes.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze results.
• Able to follow written, oral, or diagram form instructions.
• Analytical skills to determine when a machine goes out of calibration.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Sets up, changes over and makes necessary adjustments to equipment/CNC programs
• Operates machines, using push button or pedals.
• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Performs deburring operations on machined parts.
• Responsible for quality levels of operations performed.
• Responsible for simple preventative maintenance of machines.
• Responsible for housekeeping in work areas.
• Responsible for the proper documentation production records and other documentation.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
