Job summary

Qualified Staffing in Fenton, Michigan is seeking a Precision Machinist skilled in CNC Mill or Lathe operations. You will program, edit, and optimize CNC programs, set up machines, read blueprints, and ensure tight tolerances on precision parts.

This role requires 2+ years of CNC experience, GD&T knowledge, and proficiency with CAD/CAM software and precision measuring tools. The schedule is 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential third shift openings in the future; pay ranges

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience (Mill or Lathe).
• Proficiency in G-code programming and editing at the machine.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Experience with precision measuring tools and quality inspection.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software.
• Experience machining a variety of materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, plastics).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Program, edit and optimize CNC programs for Mill/Lathe operations.
• Set up machines including materials, tooling, offsets, and fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T to produce complex parts.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials.
• Operate CNC Mill or Lathe to manufacture precision components.
• Monitor operations and adjust to maintain tolerances.
• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Maintain production efficiency and quality standards.
• Inspect and document parts on inspection sheets.
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
• Troubleshoot issues and recommend process improvements.
