Job summary

Johnson Controls in York, PA, is seeking a 3rd shift machinist to set up and operate metal fabricating machines (brakes, shears, presses) to cut, bend, and form metal parts. The role requires reading blueprints, selecting tooling, and adjusting machine factors.

Forklift license may be required in some departments; training may be provided. The position offers a competitive hourly rate with shift premium, and opportunities to train others while maintaining safety, quality, and production

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop orders to determine setup and sequence of operation.
• Knowledge of CNC software and PC use to operate machines.
• Willingness to obtain forklift license where required within three months.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates brakes, shears and presses to form metal shapes.
• Reads engineering specs to determine method and sequence of operation.
• Inspects or measures work and documents deviations from prints.
