Job summary

FANUC America Corporation is seeking an Associate Field Service Engineer to perform on-site repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNCs and related equipment in the Midwest region. You will travel to customer sites, sometimes staying 2–8 nights per month, and work under the guidance of a supervisor to diagnose and fix complex issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical customer support experience preferred.
• Familiarity with electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, sensors, and motors.
• Ability to lift/move tools up to 75 lbs to customer locations.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for equipment issues.
• Ability to analyze problems and adapt approaches as needed.
• Quick learner with ability to apply new concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong CNC troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Willingness to travel 80–90% to customer sites.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel across service area.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for CNC machines and peripheral equipment.
• Participate in training programs on-the-job and in classrooms.
• Support customer service goals and communicate quality concerns to supervisors.
• Ensure inventory accuracy and timely documentation.
• Safeguard tools and equipment.
• Travel to customer sites with 2–8 overnight stays per month.
• Work under supervisor guidance and collaborate with senior engineers.
• Determine diagnosis, repair actions, and parts with supervision.
