Job summary

LRSolutions, LLC in the United States seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering & Technology to lead hands-on CNC manufacturing, process development, tooling design, and shop-floor problem solving. The role drives manufacturing transformation through automation, digital tools, and AI integration, while staying actively engaged on the production floor and mentoring the engineering team.

Qualifications

Significant manufacturing engineering experience in a CNC machining environment.
Demonstrated experience in developing manufacturing processes from engineering drawings to production.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, machining practices, tools, and fixturing.
Ability to troubleshoot shop-floor issues and guide corrective actions.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and complex requirements.
Proven success leading improvements with measurable results.
Experience with digital manufacturing tools, CNC connectivity, automation, or modernization initiatives.
Experience implementing AI in manufacturing workflows.
Experience leading technical teams with hands-on involvement.
Strong communication and cross-functional leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the methodizing of new work, including routings, sequences, setup requirements, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
Provide direct technical support for CNC programming, setup optimization, and troubleshooting.
Lead tooling and fixture design, development, selection, and implementation.
Collaborate with machinists, programmers, production leaders, and quality to resolve issues.
Improve cycle times, tool life, process capability, throughput, and consistency.
Support NPI and transition of new work into stable production.
Ensure processes meet drawings, tolerances, quality, and customer requirements.
Develop and execute a roadmap for modernizing CNC operations.
Digitize CNC operations with connectivity, data collection, program management, and digital work instructions.
Identify and implement automation and AI to improve efficiency and performance.
Evaluate new equipment, software, tooling, and technologies for value.
Turn improvements into sustained results via training and adoption.
Lead, coach, and develop the engineering team while staying hands-on.
