Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CNC Machinist (Raptor) on the 2nd shift to operate CNC machines and produce flight hardware essential for program production rates. You will deburr, inspect finishes, chase threads, borescope parts, and perform set-ups on state-of-the-art assets while maintaining 5S and shop cleanliness.

Responsibilities include tooling management, preventive maintenance, and ensuring high machine uptime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read accurately and write clearly, perform basic arithmetic.
• Experience in shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading and measurement of parts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines and produce flight hardware needed to achieve program level production rate goals.
• Deburr hardware in the assigned work center to contribute to deliveries to downstream customers.
• Chase machine cut threads to size.
• Inspect surface finishes, threads, and broken edges.
• Borescope parts to check for internal defects and debris.
• Operate clean line equipment, laser part marking, and general part finishing according to requirements.
• Perform CNC machine preventative maintenance on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Maintain the shop in terms of chip bins, oils, greases, 5S and general upkeep activities.
• Complete work instructions and test plans to document needed data throughout each process.
• Perform precision set-ups of various CNC machines on state-of-the-art assets.
• Prioritize daily work to ensure high machine uptime across the assigned shop / area.
• Manage cutting tools in CNC machines to ensure that machines have the needed cutting tools loaded and measured before they are called in upcoming programs.
