Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a CNC Machinist for Raptor combustion devices and valves. Operate, set up and program CNC machines to hit program rate targets on flight hardware. You will ensure proper tooling, deburr parts, and use CMM/borescope for quality verification.

The role requires 1+ years of CNC experience (3+ preferred), solid shop math and blueprint reading skills, and the ability to lift 35 lbs and stand for long periods. SpaceX offers strong benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 1+ years of experience in CNC machining.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC machinery (preferred).
• Experience in shop math, tooling, blueprint reading, and measurement of parts.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn assets in the shop.
• Good interpersonal skills and willingness to cross-train.
• Capable of lifting 35 lbs and standing for 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate, setup, and program CNC machines and flight hardware.
• Perform precision set-ups on CNC machines.
• Maintain tool inventory and ensure correct tools are loaded.
• Perform deburr and finish of parts.
• Operate CMM, borescope, and follow part finishing requirements.
• Perform weekly/monthly CNC maintenance.
• Maintain shop organization and 5S practices.
• Contribute ideas for machining, fixturing, and tooling improvements.
