Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CNC Machinist (Raptor) to operate CNC machines and produce flight hardware for program production goals. The role includes deburring, inspection, tool management, and upkeeping equipment to maximize uptime.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in manufacturing; preferred are 5+ years, strong math, blueprint reading, and mechanical aptitude. Overtime, 1st shift (5:00 AM - 3:30 PM) and lifting up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines and produce flight hardware to meet program production goals.
• Deburr hardware and ensure deliveries to downstream customers.
• Chase machine cut threads to size.
• Inspect surface finishes, threads and edges.
• Borescope parts to check for internal defects and debris.
• Operate line equipment, laser marking and part finishing per requirements.
• Perform weekly and monthly CNC preventative maintenance.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and 5S practices.
• Complete work instructions and test plans documenting data.
• Set up CNC machines for state-of-the-art assets.
• Prioritize daily work to ensure high machine uptime.
• Manage cutting tools and ensure tools are loaded and measured before use.
