Job summary

ASSA ABLOY in Dallas area is seeking a CNC Machinist-Programmer to set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, plasma cutters, and punches. The role involves programming CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and reading technical drawings to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

The candidate should have a strong background in CNC and manual machining, with experience reading blueprints and applying GD&T. On-site production environment with potential overtime and safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with preferred machining certs or apprenticeship.
• Extensive experience in CNC and manual machining with programming knowledge.
• Experience using CAD/CAM software for CNC programming.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprints, determines operations, tooling, feeds, speeds, and sequence.
• Sets up and programs CNC machines; operates lathes, mills, plasma cutters, punches, welders.
• Positions tools and workpieces; verifies conformance with specs and drawings.
• Performs quality inspections on machined parts and documents results.
• Troubleshoots tooling and machine issues; supports kaizen and safety initiatives.
• Operates cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as required.
• Maintains cleanliness, safety, and orderly work area; works overtime as needed.
