An established industry player is seeking a skilled Machine Programmer III to join their dynamic team. This role involves developing and modifying NC programs for various CNC machines, collaborating with engineers and production teams to optimize results, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in NC programming, a strong understanding of blueprints and GD&T, and the ability to design custom tools and fixtures. Location: Kent, WA
Duration:6 Months
A Shift: Monday – Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (2 openings)
C Shift: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM (36 hrs/week) (1 opening)
Develop and modify NC programs for CNC mills, lathes, multi-axis machines, and vertical turning lathes (VTLs)
Design machining strategies using engineering design data
Prepare and maintain setup sheets for precision component manufacturing
Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production teams to optimize results
Design custom tools and fixtures for unique applications
Provide DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) feedback to engineering teams
Lead and implement machining and administrative process improvements
Review and approve finished products in compliance with company standards
Maintain accurate documentation and configuration control
Ensure safety compliance in a high-performance industrial environment
5+ years of experience in NC programming
Strong understanding of blueprints and GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994)
Experience in setup sheet creation, tool and fixture design, and cutter selection
Proficient with machining materials such as Inconel, stainless steel, and aluminum
Ability to perform accurate feed and speed calculations
Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Familiarity with hand tools and general PC operation
Highly organized, self-driven, and deadline-focused
Committed to fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional team environment
Experience with MasterCam X7 or newer
Familiarity with Unigraphics NX, Vericut, or similar simulation software
Previous experience operating CNC machinery
Practical hands-on experience as a machinist
