Job summary

Allegion is seeking a CNC Machinist in Princeton, NJ to set up and operate CNC equipment, fabricating metal parts per design specifications while following safety and quality standards. This entry-level position focuses on learning under supervision and growing machining skills within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include basic inspections, loading parts, maintaining equipment, and documenting production.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Entry-level role; no experience required.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with machining techniques, tools and equipment.
• Essential Skills: Communication, machining, quality control, problem-solving, safety, teamwork, adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate basic CNC functions following detailed instructions to cut, form, drill, mill and stamp parts.
• Perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading parts and attaching components.
• Conduct basic equipment checks to ensure tools and machines are operational.
• Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions for machine setup and operation.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Perform routine quality inspections using basic measurement tools.
• Identify and segregate defective parts for supervisor review.
• Maintain accurate records of production counts and defect reports.
• Adhere to safety protocols and utilize PPE.
• Communicate effectively to report issues and provide updates.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Work overtime as needed and cross-train in other areas.
