Job summary

Allegion is seeking a highly skilled CNC Applications Engineer in Princeton, IL to optimize manufacturing processes for precision machining. You will set up, program and run Fanuc controlled CNC centers, review prints, fixtures and tooling, and lead lean initiatives to improve throughput and quality.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance and quality teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges, monitor tool life, and document processes and training materials.

Qualifications

  • 4 Year Degree in Engineering or related field is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in setting up, programming and operating Fanuc controlled CNC machining centers in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Fanuc Controls, G and M code to develop programs for Mori‑Seiki, Haas, OKK, DN Solutions, and Takamaz equipment or similar equipment.
  • Experience with operating all forms of inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and its applications.
  • Ability to read, interpret and utilize blue prints.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews all new jobs prior to being set up, including prints, programs, material, tooling, fixtures, collets and holders to ensure no interruptions at set up.
  • Studies parts, blueprints, drawings and engineering information to determine methods and sequence of CNC machining operations.
  • Performs in-process inspections to assure products will meet requirements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges.
  • Determines reference points, machine cutting paths, computes angular and linear dimensions, radii and curvatures.
  • Monitors and adjusts feeds and speeds; selects proper tooling and fixturing requirements.
