Job summary

Dover Corporation’s Microwave Products Group (MPG) in Salisbury, MD is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate machine tools, cutting, shaping, and forming metal to exact sizes per drawings and CAD specs.

You will determine dimensions and tolerances, work with lathes and mills, and use precision measuring tools. Safety training and experience in machinist roles are essential; a related apprenticeship is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 4 years of related machine shop experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals and technical materials.
• Position also requires machine shop training in mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout and machining procedures.
• Specialized machine operation training or apprenticeship a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and operates machine tools to cut, shape and form metal stock and castings to exact sizes, using detailed drawings, CAD systems and specifications.
• Determines dimensions and tolerances of job to be machined.
• Uses machine tools ranging from lathes to milling machines.
• May operate console/CNC controlled machine(s).
• Utilizes precision measuring instruments to check accuracy of work.
