Job summary

Accelera in Mobile, AL is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support the end-to-end production of tight-tolerance components. You will setup and operate CNC lathe s and mills, following engineering specifications.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of shop-floor experience, the ability to read GD&T, perform in-process inspections, and adjust tooling, feeds, and speeds to maximize efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on CNC lathe/mill experience in a professional shop.
• Ability to hold tolerances of ±0.001" or better.
• Proficient in reading engineering prints and GD&T callouts.
• Experience with offset adjustments and basic G-code editing at the control.
• Knowledge of selecting tooling,Feeds and speeds for various materials.

Responsibilities

• Execute complete machine setups for CNC lathes and milling centers.
• Interpret engineering drawings including GD&T to meet exact specs.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges.
• Manage tool offsets, feeds, and speeds to maximize cycle efficiency.
• Troubleshoot programming or toolpath issues to ensure production output.
• Maintain documentation including job travelers and material traceability.
• Collaborate with production to address tooling or quality challenges.
• Uphold a clean, safe, organized workspace following shop protocols.

• Interpret complex engineering drawings, including GD&T requirements, to produce components that meet exact specifications.
• Perform critical in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges to guarantee quality.
• Proactively manage tool offsets, feeds, and speeds to maximize cycle efficiency and maintain part integrity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming or toolpath issues to ensure consistent production output.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including job travelers and material traceability records.
• Collaborate with the production team to streamline workflows and address tooling or quality challenges.
• Uphold a clean and organized workspace, adhering strictly to all shop safety protocols.

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills in a professional shop environment.
• Proven ability to hold tight tolerances of ±0.001" or better.
• Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering prints and GD&T callouts.
• Experience with offset adjustments and basic G-code program editing at the control.
• Solid understanding of selecting appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds for various materials.
• Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills

• NIMS certification in CNC Turning or Milling.
• Experience with 3D modeling or CAD/CAM software.
• Background in manual machining or secondary shop operations.
• Familiarity with a variety of CNC controls such as Fanuc or Haas.
