Job summary

You will read blueprints and process sheets, adjust machine controls, and collaborate with engineers to optimize production while maintaining a safe, clean work area. 3+ years in CNC turning and Fanuc controls are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional CNC training or machining certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing tooling changes, offset adjustments, and production optimization on CNC turning centers.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and metalworking processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to operate precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gauges, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and machine maintenance skills.
  • Experience with Fanuc‑controlled CNC lathes and basic program editing is a plus.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain CNC lathes to produce precision components according to engineering specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, process sheets, and specifications to determine machining operations.
  • Load tooling, perform tool changes, adjust offsets, and make machine control adjustments to ensure optimal performance and part quality.
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions, dimensional deviations, or quality issues and make necessary corrections.
  • Perform first‑piece, in‑process, and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues including tool wear, programming deviations, dimensional concerns, and material‑related challenges.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, supervisors, and team members to optimize production processes and achieve production goals.
  • Follow established safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Document production activities including machine settings, tooling changes, quality inspections, SPC data, and production output.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator with experience operating CNC lathes in a production environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, experience with CNC turning operations, and a commitment to producing high-quality precision components. This role is suited for machinists who can operate equipment, perform tooling adjustments, offsets, inspections, and support production in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Opportunities are available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Pay is based on experience, ranging from $32–$40 per hour. 2nd & 3rd shift differential offered.
