Job summary

TEEMS FABRICATION INC in Georgia is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to set up, operate, and maintain CNC turning machines to produce high-precision metal components.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints, select tooling, and monitor quality while meeting production targets; familiarity with GD&T and precision measuring tools is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC lathes in a metal manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding of CNC machining processes and turning operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal parts.
  • Load and adjust programs; make offsets and tool changes as required.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Select tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds appropriate for materials and tolerances.
  • Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision tools.
  • Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues during production.
  • Perform routine maintenance and keep machines and work areas clean.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Work closely with supervisors, programmers, and quality personnel to meet deadlines.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision metal parts
  • Load and adjust programs; make offsets and tool changes as required
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
  • Select tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds appropriate for materials and tolerances

  • Basic CNC programming or editing experience (G-code)
  • Experience with multi-axis or live tooling lathes
  • Technical certification or vocational training in machining
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed inspection
