Job summary

Hartzell Air Movement is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate Mazak and Fanuc CNC mills, including manual machines when needed. You will read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and contribute to process improvements.

You will train new operators, maintain 5S workspace standards, and perform routine maintenance while ensuring parts meet print specifications.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree a plus.
• At least 1 year experience with Mazak (Mazatrol) machines and M and G code preferred.
• 1 year experience operating CNC machines; proficient with manual machines desired.
• Able to edit, troubleshoot and build CNC programs.
• Process-oriented with continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret blueprints/drawings.
• Able to use measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore gage, etc.).
• M and G code experience a plus; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, offset, set up, adjust, and operate Mazak (Mazatrol) CNC and Fanuc-based CNC Mills.
• Run manual mills, lathes, and related equipment.
• Use inspection instruments to check work per print without supervision.
• Read prints and inspect parts per specifications.
• Train and assist new operators.
• Edit CNC programs in conversational and G/M code.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and 5S organized work area.
• Perform preventative maintenance and monitor machine conditions.
• Observe control panels and compare data with prints.
• Determine speeds and feeds for various tools; support improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.
