Job summary

Aerotek in Vernon, CT is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate a range of CNC lathes, milling and Swiss machines in a high-changeover production environment, with growth toward a setup/programmer role.

You will inspect parts with SMTE, read blueprints, edit small programs in G-code, manage tooling and changeovers, and strive to improve efficiency while maintaining quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of setup and operation on CNC lathes and mill-turn machines.
• Hands-on experience with HAAS and Okuma CNC equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings.
• Skilled in SMTE and measurement verification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, milling, multi-turret, mill-turn, and Swiss machines.
• Perform tool changes and offsets to meet tolerances.
• Run multiple machines and maintain safety and quality.
• Inspect parts with SMTE and verify conformance to specs.
• Read drawings and work instructions to produce precise parts.
• Make minor G-code edits to optimize operations.
• Manage inventory of tooling and materials.
• Support continuous improvement and faster changeovers.
