Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing in Colorado Springs is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will program, setup, and operate CNC mills and lathes, read engineering drawings, and verify tolerances with gauges.

You will work on diverse aerospace components, handle various machines, and adapt to changing projects. A high school diploma or GED and 3–5 years of precision machining experience are required, with US citizenship and clearance as applicable.

Qualifications

Must be capable of reading engineering drawings.
Experience operating CNC lathes (primarily) with backup on CNC mills and manual equipment.
Set up and run machines on a variety of operations to produce precision finished goods within print tolerances.
Use fixtures or gauges to verify dimensional checks.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC lathes (primarily); provide backup on CNC mills and other manual equipment.
Set up and run multiple machines on various operations to produce precision parts within tolerances.
Verify dimensions using fixtures or gauges and measurement tools.
Contribute to aerospace component manufacturing, including exotic materials; 5-axis/mill-turn experience a plus.
Work on diverse projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Perform other duties and overtime as required.
