Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing in Colorado Springs, CO is seeking a CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift. You will read engineering drawings, set up and run CNC lathes (primarily) with some CNC mill work, and ensure parts meet print tolerances with gauges.

This role requires 3-5 years of precision machining and the ability to work overtime as needed. Ideal candidates have experience with 5-axis or mill-turn operations and can handle large aerospace components from exotic materials.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with 5-axis and/or mill-turn operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC lathes (primarily) and provide backup for CNC mills.
• Set up and run a variety of machines to produce precision parts per print.
• Verify dimensions using gauges and measurement tools; lift up to 35+ pounds.
