Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing in Colorado Springs is seeking a CNC Machinist on 2nd shift to join our team. You will program, set up, and operate CNC lathes (primarily) with exposure to CNC mills and precision measurement.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of precision machining experience, reads engineering drawings, and can work overtime. US citizenship and clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of CNC machining experience on CNC mills and lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
• Must be able to lift 35+ pounds and work overtime when needed.
• Willingness to work Friday–Sunday 6AM–6PM and US citizenship with clearance.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and set up CNC lathes primarily.
• Operate CNC lathes and provide backup on CNC mills.
• Set up and run multiple machines within print tolerances.
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Work on various aerospace components; 5-axis/mill-turn a plus.
