Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist 2nd Shift in Colorado Springs, CO. You will program, set up, and operate CNC lathes (primarily) with backup on CNC mills, reading engineering drawings to produce precision parts within print tolerances.

The role requires 5+ years of machining experience, shop math, and the ability to interpret work instructions for fabrication. Candidates must lift 35+ pounds, be able to work overtime, and hold US citizenship.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and set up/operate CNC lathes (primarily) with backup on CNC mills.
• Set up and run machines across a variety of operations to produce precision parts within print tolerances.
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Overtime may be required and applicants must be able to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
